Smallmouth Bass fishing in Lake Erie once again is fantastic as their population is on the rise. Anglers are discovering the excitement of pursuing these high-jumping, feisty fish. If you're looking for an action packed fishing this is it! These bass jump, twist and turn making them the hardest fighting fish in Lake Erie.
Smallmouth are taken all around Lake Erie's Western Basin island's and reefs.
Rocky structures support large resident populations of smallmouth bass and walleye which is why the near shore rocky western basin reef complex right off my marina offers some of the best smallmouth and walleye fishing action in the world!

Smallmouth Bass catches currently average 14-17 inches, with many larger fish in the 18-20 inch range. Best months for small mouths typically are May through September.
Tackle used Ugly stick fast action tip medium weight rods are best used when using Lake erie tube baits and blade baits.

Tackle: All tackle is provided at no extra cost.
Keeping Fish: Anglers may keep fish on Cast A Way Fishing Charters outings. Size limits and possession limits are set by the MDNR and ODNR.
Fish Cleaning: Fish cleaning is available at an additional cost.
What To Bring: We recommend you bring the following items to make your trip as enjoyable as possible; drinks and snacks, appropriate clothes, sunscreen, hat, polarized sunglasses, camera and a cooler for your catch.
Gratuity: Please remember your Captain at the end of the day. A normal tip is 15% of the total value of your trip.
