Lake Erie Walleye Fishing Charter
April is walleye spawning time in Lake Erie. Lake Erie Walleyes migrate to the Western Basin in large numbers. Enjoy catching good numbers of walleye and occasional fish that can reach trophy size. We target these shallow water walleyes with hair jigs and blade baits.
In May through the summer Lake Erie’s Walleye reach the post spawn stage. After a long stressful spawn Walleye are very aggressive and are hungry. The preferred method of fishing early is trolling with crank baits and spoons. June in Lake Erie starts to become very consistent with the beginning of stable weather nice. Enjoy catching walleye as the water temperature rises the fish become more active and can produce big catches. July is the best month for big catches of Lake Erie Walleye. The weather is stable and walleye are schooled up in their normal patterns and migrations. July has the highest catch rate of any month according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Most years the first two weeks of August still produces great catches of walleye. Once the walleye fishing slows down in we focus on Yellow Perch.
